A lively and information packed evening last week at the Community Forum and Drop-in. Local residents gathered in the community wing at The Pathfinder School to hear latest progress updates from Gallagher Estates and the HCA. With applications from the Phase 1 housebuilders coming in thick and fast and momentum building, Planning Officers from the District Council were on hand to answer questions along with Bovis Homes and Taylor Wimpey who shared plans for their housing schemes. Highways England were there too to give an update now work on the A14 has started.

The next Community Forum will be on October 19th 7pm-9pm with an informal drop in between 6pm and 7pm at the new Pathfinder Primary School, Northstowe, there is plenty of parking at the school.  Lots to update on.  Agenda attached.  Hope to see you there.  Directions:

From A14/Bar Hill/Longstanton/Swavesey/Over, going North on the B1050, turn right at the lights signposted Northstowe Centre, follow to school located at the end of the road.

It was a hot summer evening for the July Community Forum

The quarterly Northstowe Community Forum was well attended again by the local community who were keen to hear about recent progress on site.  Here’s an update for those who were unable to attend.

It was good to see presentations from three of the housebuilders that will be building homes on Phase One of Northstowe: Bloor Homes Eastern, Barratt Homes and Taylor Wimpey.

Next Community Forum

The next Northstowe Community Forum will be held on 20th July at Longstanton Village Institute from 7pm until 9pm.  Representatives from the phase one housebuilders will be joining us.

If you have any questions or comments that you would like to ask in advance of the Community Forum or are unable to stay for the Community Forum, please feel free to come and have an informal chat with Gallagher Estates, the Homes and Communities Agency, South Cambridgeshire District Council or Cambridgeshire County Council from 6pm until 6.45pm.

Big things planned for healthy town

As a town planner working for the Homes and Communities Agency, Northstowe is a once in a life time opportunity to create a successful new place from scratch. It is quite a responsibility and I am getting involved in a number of initiatives that require thought from the outset of the detailed design stages.  One of these is the Healthy Towns initiative set up by NHS England whereby new developments could apply to be designated a Healthy Town.
